This documentary talks about the life of Belgian explorer Marquess Robert de Wavrin. The Marquess traveled to the heart of the amazon jungle to document the life of the indigenous tribes between the years of 1923 and 1938. What makes the marquess so remarkable is that at times of colonial absolutism and indifference towards indigenous communities, he was motivated by unprejudiced curiosity about the life and customs of people so distant from the west. Grace Winter researchers the life of the Marquess during the course of ten years, looking over his texts, and watching his films. A journey into the life of an adventurous and curious filmmaker with a genuine interests for culture and life.
